2021: Poet had a great outing in his first Ryder Cup. He was paired with the Bandit and took down the Smith brothers in a decisive victory. Saturday morning, he paired up with the lady driver Mel. Mel was able to put every drive over 300 yards out there, making for an easy 2nd shot every time for Matt and his irons. Troy and Jeff were no match for this formidable pairing. Poet then matched up against Zale in the 1v1 and come to find out, Poet played high school golf and was able to retain all the skills he ever had. He smoked Zale and the match was the easiest of the weekend for Poet.
2022: Poet was brought back down to earth in the 2022 Ryder Cup after a hot rookie year. However, 2022 was the year of love as Searge (vice-captain of Lombardo) played against Poet Saturday morning and decided it was so much fun, that he needed to have him on his team. Matt's final year on Cobra Kai was decent, capturing a final win against a solid Lombardo player in Eric. He was unfortunately paired with the two worst players on Cobra Kai in the scramble rounds, leading to two losses to start the weekend. Poet started 3 up thru 6 holes, red hot after his burning love affair with Searge. He was up 5 at the turn, but Eric was able to battle back being down 2 with 3 holes left. Poet was able to secure the victory on 16 with a win. 2023 will be a huge year for Poet as he will need to prove himself on his new Lombardo squad.
Player Bio
Matt was a high school golfer, but has been on a downward spiral in his golf game ever since. While he can certainly keep pace on the course, it will more than likely be the pace of booze rather than golf. Matt certainly embodies all that the Cobra Kai team has to offer and usually ends up roaming the streets at around 4AM with a handle of Fireball, looking for a party. Matt is yet another scumbag from Clare, making it a total of 6 hicks hacking it around the course.
