Yearly Summary
2013: Kyle was a no show at the 2013 Ryder Cup although technically that is where he received his only victory. His lack of presence allowed Jonny to play 2 balls in the 2 man scramble and dismantle Brandon and Patty.
2014: 0-3….couldn't have happened to a worse person. He hit his stride early in the 1 on 1 winning the first 4 holes but then lost the next 5 and never came back. His most signficant act of the weekend came from us getting to witness a true walk of shame from some random local out of the condos Sunday morning. She must have been attracted to that pink LVP medal.
2015: : Kyle did a good job in 2015 bouncing back after his LVP performance in 2014. He teamed with his Dad on Friday afternoon to demolish Andy and Kevin. However, Kyle had the impossible task of partnering with Dan-o on Saturday morning and suffered a close loss. Then on Saturday afternoon, he lost a very narrow match to his growing rival Casey (2015 MVP)
2016: Kyle finished the weekend with a solid 2-0-1 record. It definitely helped out being paired with both of the co-MVPs of the weekend Eric and Zale. He was able to get a little redemption by forcing a tie with rival Casey. Surprisingly, for the first time in Ryder Cup history, Kyle held together his golf game as well as himself the rest of the weekend.
2017: No surprise, 2017 turned out to be another train wreck of a year for Kyle. Losing two matches by an astounding 5&4, the only competiveness was when Eric was able to play out of his mind golf to keep them in the match. The only good thing about Kyle’s year is that Dano had a worse year, eeking out the LVP honors (down $100 and a pair of Cabernet soaked shorts).
2018: Another year, another 3 losses. Eckles continues to be a consistent non-contributor to Team Lombardo. No matter who you pair him with, or who you pair him against, they usually end up high and feeling like they spent 18 holes with a sleazy used car salesmen. The only difference is he had nothing to sell.
2019: Kyle did not attend this year's Ryder Cup.
2020: Kyle did not attend the COVID Cup, presumably because he had COVID, but he plans to be back in 2021.
2021: No surprise on another 0-3 year for Kyle, securing his 2nd Least Valuable Player award. Not only did he lose in a resounding fashion, he only won 10 holes the entire Ryder Cup. An absolutely abysmal performance. The Lombardo captain sacrificed his opening round with Kyle against the Cobra Kai captain and Zach and the Cobra Kai team destroyed them 4&3. Kyle was paired with Ken S in the Saturday morning round and the result was even worse. Ken tried to carry Kyle on his back, but with no success as CLo and Gordo shot out of their mind. Kyle hopes to come back in 2022 to be able to win for once...
2022: Kyle had a miraculous 1v1 victory against Dever in 2022. This was no doubt the highlight of his career at the Lietke Ryder Cup. I won't waste too much time talking about the first two scramble rounds, as there isn't much to say, he lost both of them. Going in to the 1v1, Kyle was looking to avenge those earlier losses and did he ever. Dever was able to hold the lead through the turn, up 1, even after carding two-10s in the opening 9 holes. Kyle found himself down 3 through 14, with very low expectations of a comeback. And then something miraculous happened, Kyle went on to win the final 4 holes to take the victory out from under Dever. The 18th hole was most memorable, as Kyle had a 80-yd approach shot over the water, that he stuck on the green, all but sealing the victory for Lombardo. Hopefully Kyle can take this momentum in to 2023 for Team Lombardo!

Player Bio
Kyle's record indicates that he is a terrible golfer. Kyle's personality indicates he is even worse of a person. For those who don't know Kyle, he will be the one looking in the woods or ponds for his balls and looking anywhere else for a local to hook up with.
Ryder Cup Highlight
Kyle's Ryder Cup highlight occurred in 2014 and it wasn't even on the golf course. In his first actual appearance at the Ryder Cup, his highlight came when he met a very proud Mom at the local bar in Gaylord and brought her back to the condos littered with Lodings with and other bodies everywhere. That didn't seem to deter this special lady (who apparently had a babysitter for the night). The walk of shame the next morning was definitely one to remember.

Kyle models his life after the movie 'Step Brothers'…planning to live in his parents' basement until the age of 40 with his only job managing a baseball team (fantasy baseball).
