2013: Jason surprised a lot of people by hitting some clutch shots on Friday and keeping a tight race with Kevin and Zach Saturday morning. He was close with Mel for a while Saturday afternoon and did everything he could to gain the advantage, including throwing Mel out of the cart. His weekend came to a climax as he was throwing up out the passenger side window of his car on the way home from the bar Saturday night.
2014: Jason managed to help contribute half a point for Team Lombardo on the weekend. That's more than most expected. He did hit a new low when he was asked to leave the course on the 13th hole for slow play. Jason is currently still in a payment plan with Mel to pay off all his skin bets that he lost against him in the 1 on 1 match.
2015: Jason surprised by a lot of people by nearly going unbeaten in 2015. After a narrow 1UP victory on Friday afternoon, he scratched out a draw against Luke and Zach Saturday morning. He was in good shape to finish the weekend unbeaten until a disappointing 72 on the back 9 Saturday afternoon gave him a loss to Kevin.
2016: Steadily improving Jason finished the weekend with a 0-2-1 record but all of his matches were tight. He managed a tie on Friday while having to listen to Luke complain the entire 18. He lost on Saturday to Casey and Red Hot Zach but was in command of Kevin on Saturday afternoon. Jason ran out of steam on the back 9 and allowed Kevin to come back and ‘Make the Ryder Cup Great Again’.
2017: Collingsworth had a surprisingly good year in 2017. Surprising, because a win for Collingsworth is always surprising. Jason was teamed up with the better Eckles, Jeff, for the Friday afternoon round. Unfortunately Jeff was too high to remember how to swing. A Saturday morning matchup with the Lombardo captain made for an easy win against Zach and Dever. With a Dever re-match in the afternoon, Collingsworth was able to get under Dever’s liberal skin and take him to the house, much like his beloved President Trump.
2018: 2018 saw the return of the Collingsworth(less) that we all know and love. Once again getting an Eckles pairing on Friday afternoon proved to be second worst round of the afternoon, barely staying at bogey golf. Saturday morning was smooth sailing for Barkeley and the Bandit against Jason. By Saturday afternoon, Jason was sunburnt, drunk and more confident than ever. Mel brought his ladies driver, taking the first 2 holes. By the turn, Collingsworth was down 5. With Team Lombardo on the outs and Jason down, he finally stopped talking shit, for once in his life.
2019: Jason found himself on the losing end of his scramble rounds again, being paired with Dan M, and Ken M. Losing both matches by a combined 5 points, the Saturday afternoon matchup against Ty. Ty proved to be no match for Jason, as Jason took the first 5 out of 6 holes and cruised in to the turn feeling good. Ty was never able to recover and Jason secured a highly needed point for Team Lombardo.
2020: Jason was on the poor Smugglin' Plums team in the COVID Cup, surprisingly going 1-1-1, and winning his match against the other poor Perkis Power team. Jason is looking forward to another year leading Team Lombardo in to victory in 2021!
2021: Jason found himself paired with a new partner on Friday afternoon, Statenstache. They seemed to find a rhythm in the practice round but found themselves 2 down at the turn. 2 down going in to 15, they were able to take 15 and 16, tieing the match up. The final two holes were all square pushing the match to an AS final. Jason's Saturday morning round, he was paired with Jeremy and took an early lead, being up 2 at the turn. They were able to hold the lead and roll to a 4&2 final. The 1v1 match was against Ty. Jason started off winning 3 of the first 4 holes, however lost the final 3 holes on the front nine. He was down 1 at the turn and was never able to recover on the back nine, losing 4&2.
2022: Jason and Jeremy were excited to pair up again in 2022 after dominating the Cobra Kai captain in 2021, however things didn't go as planned and they were thumped 7&6. Enough said. Jason tried to follow up on Saturday morning with Ken S, but was unable to overcome Sideburns and Brad. Brad was on fire and too much to handle. Can't say the same about the Cobra Kai captain. Fortunately, Jason was able to match up against the now (mostly) sober, Zach. Zach was able to keep it close through the first 10 holes, down only 1, Jason broke it open on the back nine with a couple huge pars. Zach lost all confidence and Jason was able to roll to an easy victory!
2023: Jason continues to be a fantastic partner in the team events, but struggle in the 1v1, most likely because the sunburn if fully catching up to him by Saturday afternoon. Somehow, Jason still manages to get sunburn, even while wearing a massive migrant worker hat throughout all his rounds. Friday afternoon, Jason was paired with Staten where they were easily able to handle the not so dynamic Mihelich duo, Ken and Bryan. Saturday morning, Jason joined up with the Lombardo MVP, Santini where they absolutely demolished Ty and Patty, making Jason the first person to beat ALL the Mihelich's in 2 rounds and likely the reason for Ty not coming back this year after that debacle. Jason was then paired against EB. Jason came out of the gates winning the first 2 holes, but the prior Ultimate Warrior fought back winning holes 3-5 and then 7. Jason won 8 and 9, squaring it up through the turn. It was a bit back and forth going in to the back nine, still all square through 14. Jason won 15 feeling confident at that point he could close out the match, however EB kicked it in to gear similar to his marathon running, and won the last 3 holes to seal the victory and yet another Ultimate Warrior crown!
Player Bio
When you took first glance at Jason, you will think "He can't possibly be good at golf." Well, you would be exactly right. Jason is best known for his Late night show on TBS and as the ginger who threw poor Mel out of the golf cart in 2013. Since the max number of shots is 10 per hole, Jason is striving to break a 180 this year.
Ryder Cup Highlight
Jason's Ryder Cup Highlight came during the 2013 1 on 1 matchup. Since Kyle was a no show, Mel and Jason decided to ride in the same cart together. Jason, in a desperate move to gain some advantage, threw Mel out of the cart while driving down the fairway. Luckily, Mel was able to get his 104 year old body of the fairway and finish the round. This is a big reason that we don't let Lombardo and Cobra Kai ride in the same cart.
Fun Fact
Jason was actually a childhood star. You may know him from his role as Mark in 'Step by Step' or Ted in his featue film debut, 'Beethoven'. Jason recently moved to Buffalo in a desperate attempt to get away from the sun and in hopes of finding some girls that aren't totally repulsed by him. Something tells me, he will be moving again next year.
