Yearly Summary
Nick's inaugural Ryder cup was overall difficult. He was paired with his brother, Jeremy in the opening round and lost to the formidable Poet/Bandit duo. Going into the Saturday morning round, Nick was feeling optimistic with his pairing with E-dub. Unfortunately for that team, Brad was on fire, shooting 1 over part with Ty in the opening 9. E-dub and Nick were able to stick around, only being 1 down going in to the back nine. They battled back to AS by 13, but unfortunately lost three in a row at the hands of par, birdie, birdie. While they shot a 77, it was too much with the even par round by Brad and Ty. Going in to the 1v1 match, Nick was determined to get his first Ryder Cup victory, and he did just that. His opponent, Casey, was a good matchup and they battled throughout. Nick won 3 of the first 4 holes taking an early lead and held on to a 4up advantage at the turn. Casey wouldn't go away and was able to come back to within 2, but no closer. Nick was able to close out the round, winning 2&1 and plans to hold that momentum in to 2022.
Nick had another great showing in his 2nd Ryder Cup. He started out with a close win on Friday afternoon with partner, Scott. He started the momentum towards the eventual LVP award for EB. On Saturday morning, he was unfortunately paired with Jeff E., and Luke and Zach were too much to handle, ruining Nick's hope at the MVP award. He had a tough matchup in the 1v1 against the cheater, Mel. They were AS thru the turn, Nick found himself down 1 going in to hole 14. He turned it on and won the next two holes to go up 1 on Mel going in to hole 16. He held on with a final win on hole 17 to stick the fork in Mel.
Nick came to play in 2023. He was partnered with the Lombardo Ace, Searge against Patty and Bandit, a solid matchup. Searge and Nick partnered well and were able to take down the best Cobra Kai pairing Friday afternoon. Saturday morning, Nick was paired with the Lombardo Captain, against a really crappy Cobra team of EB and Zach. The match was WAY closer than expected, but in the end, Zach wore EB down enough for Lombardo to hold on to the win in the final hole. Nick was then matched up against Ty in the 1 v 1 match. Ty won the first hole, but Nick was able to counter winning holes 2-4. Ty fought his way back, and Nick found himself up 1 at the turn. Ty won holes 10 & 11, taking the lead. It was a bit of slugfest from there with Ty 1 up going in to 16. Unfortunately, Nick had a rough few holes and Ty was able to take the victory on hole 17, 3 & 1.
A difficult year losing to Zach in the 1 v 1. No one really knows how that happened...
